How to get the most out of your annuals

So you’ve planted some flowers to add color to your landscape. Here are some tips on how to get the most out of your summer annuals!
1. Feed them!
Fertilizing your flowers will encourage growth and create healthy, vigorous, and attractive plants that will produce and abundance of flowers!
When your flowers were installed, they were fed with a starter fertilizer. Dowco suggests 2-4 annual fertilizations scheduled approximately 1x/week after installation. We use a slow release and the price is dependent upon your landscaping.
2. Practice proper watering!
Manage watering to ensure that annuals are not allowed to wilt excessively. Due to the shallower root systems of annuals, deep waterings are not necessary. However, most annuals will benefit from a daily, early morning watering. Drip lines to container plantings can save you time! Call us for a quote.
3. Enhance your life!
If you really want to get the most out of your flowers, bring them inside for interior decorations!
Gently prune the ones you want and place them in a small, glass vase for the kitchen table.
They can also be dried and pressed into a scrapbook or a 3-D frame.
