Storm Cleanup

If you have lived in St. Louis you know that April showers really do bring May flowers! But you also know the showers are not limited to specific months and that each storm is different in how long it lasts, the damage it causes, and the storm cleanup required. Spring is by far the wettest season in St. Louis, accumulating 321 inches of precipitation on average between April and June.
St. Louis is not only known for the rain during these months, but also for the spring storms that accompany it! It is common to look at the radar and see green, yellow, orange, or red on the map indicating that a strong storm will be headed our way. These storms can include rain, lightning, hail, strong damaging winds.
It is important to find a safe place to be during storms. If you cannot find a basement, make sure you go to the most inner room of your house that does not have any windows. For most people, this is the bathroom. Stay in your safe location until all signs of the storm have passed.
After a storm, people are always anxious to see the damage and debris it left behind. Sometimes after the storm your yard will look like this…
Or like this.
Or this.
Either way, someone has to pick up the mess.
